End of month view – November 09

Yet another month is over and I dont  seem to have made any progress in tidying up the garden since my last month’s end post. Its either been too wet or I haven’t been here or been poorly! Oh well never mind at least at this time of year plants aren’t growing out of hand and its only really a case of me not liking to see it untidy.

The new border is looking abit bare at the moment. There are still some Agastache which probably need removing.  I haven’t decided yet whether I should pull them up or cut them down to see if they come back next year.  I have collected some seed from them so should be covered either way.

A view I dont normally show across the back of the garden. I couldn’t take any other photos of the back garden as the ground was just so sodden.

The patio (which I hate) is looking abit sad now.  I have been rushing around for the last half hour bringing in the tender plants as they ar forecasting the first real hard frost of the year.

My dinky greenhouse before the rest of the tender plants were put in.  I can’t now get in the greenhouse.

Last month’s ‘End of Month’ view is here and previous month’s here

  1. I entirely sympathise – my garden looks as if somebody has spent all month pouring buckets of water over it, which is essentially what has happened. It’s been too wet to do anything at all, and apart from the nerines, which are mainly lying down, there’s not a splash of colour to be seen.

  2. You have a collection of lovely planters there! Hopefully things will dry out for you soon. Carol

It is a dismal time of year. I think it is best to stare out of the window and hope for better weather – oh – and look at seed catalogues!

I always like seeing your posts on your garden. I have one Agastache that always comes back, the rest usually only last one year and sometimes self seed but rarely make it to blooming size. We still haven’t had a hard frost, which seems late. The good part is that we still have quite a few flowers.
I put my end of month view up today too.

It did not rain here today for a change but was sunny with a biting wind – my fingers were dropping off after a few minutes outside so I gave up :) Like your seasonal header.

  6. I enjoyed your end of the month review. Nothing looked untidy to me. I remember your awesome rosemary cascading on the wall. (I think my memory is right, isn’t it?) We have had a very mild November, but tomorrow night, the cold weather is supposed to arrive. We need to get some plants into our egress window well.

  9. Helen – I am a little late, mostly because my garden looks so awful I couldn’t bring myself to photograph it – but I did it, and my post is now up.

    Hope you are feeling better,
    K
