When I arrived back from my holiday I discovered a package waiting for me. I love receiving parcels so this was very exciting but even more exciting when I discovered what was inside. Tiggy at Future Primitive had sent me two bars of her soap to try so I could review on my blog.
They are beautifully presented, as you can see above. The first one I have opened is her ‘Potters Bar’ soap because she describes it as being ideal for potters and gardeners. The bar is about 5.5oz big and wrapped in some form of protective paper (I’m afraid I don’t know the technical name) with a simple thin card strip around it with all the necessary information. You have to admit that it does look good but you wait until you open it up.
The bar looks like some sort of pistachio nut cake with lots of butter cream icing in the middle and on top – gorgeous.
The ingredients for this bar of soap include wheat bran, which I think are the dark specks you can see, and this gives the soap an exfoliating effect which is fantastic for getting the ingrained soil from off your fingers. It’s other ingredients are Malvern Spring Water, (Tiggy is based in Evesham not far from me and therefore not far from the Malvern Hills) coconut oil, palm oil, olive oil, sunflower oil, organic cocoa butter. It is scented with Eucalyptus, lavender and lemon essential oil with a smattering of fennel.
The texture of the soap is really creamy and it lathers up nicely but unlike some soaps it seems to be lasting quite well. It feels very luxurious and at the same time my hands felt very moisturised. I normally struggle with dry hands after gardening a lot and have to put on loads and loads of hand cream. I found this soap did the trick without the tubs of hand cream.
In the interest of giving you a thorough review I also used the soap in the shower and I have to say that my skin felt lovely and soft afterwards.
I have another bar of soap to unwrap but I am saving that for when I have finished the Potters Bar soap. I will definitely be getting some of Tiggy’s soaps as Christmas presents for people. They look lovely, they smell nice and they make you feel just that little bit spoilt.
If you would like to try some of Tiggy’s soaps check out her web-site and her etsy shop. I think she also does local markets so if you are in Worcestershire you might spot her.

My word…what a glowing review.
You’re really really kind to write what you did.
I can’t thank you enough.
So glad you enjoyed the soaps!
Thanks Helen

Thank you Patient Gardener for contacting me on blotanical. I am new to blogging, only one month so far, and newer yet to blotanical. I still do not know my way around the blotanical site. I have visited your site before and have enjoyed your postings.
‘Potters Bar’ almost looks good enough to eat ~ off to have a look at the web site
