About Me
I started this blog in 2008 to record how my garden developed, it quickly became a gardening journal and I have loved it every since. I am passionate about horticultre despite working in higher education administration. However now, 2013, I want to re-engage with my early hobbies of sewing, knitting and crochet so this blog will start to have a wider range of entries that aren't all garden related.
I love reading your comments and I do hope you enjoy the blog.

What a treat! She looks lovely.
I am by no means a royalist, but somehow it’s still a big deal to meet royalty. I’ve been introduced to a queen, been flirted with by a prince consort, played with toy cars with a prince heir and been bought a pint by a crown prince. (Denmark is a small country, so running into royalty is probably more common here than in the UK…)
I’ve only seen Bessie II from afar, though, at the opening of Parliament back in 2001.
Yvonne – NZ – Still a lot of ‘Royalists’ in NZ but it really bugged me last time I came through British Customs as an “ALIEN”!!!! Lovely photo, she has never put a foot wrong! I think the ‘family’ have struck it lucky with William and Catherine?! A breath of fresh air. Even Camilla is looking ok now.
How exciting. My husband was a rower and on the Queen’s Silver Jubilee she was in Canada for the Queen’s Cup race that he was in. His crew won and the Queen presented the cup to him since he was the coxswain. It was a very proud moment that he will never forget!!
