About Helen Johnstone

I live in Malvern, Worcestershire and am a very keen gardener. I started the Patient Gardener Blog in January 2008 as a way of recording what was happening in my garden and connecting with other like-minded people. I started a second blog PatientGardener 365 January 2013 in order to try and post a photo a day to capture what is growing in my garden or places I have visited

I chose the very same one for a winter pot! They are like happy faces to me too; and they always make me smile. Christina

  2. I always have some of these little viola’s, they are sooo cute !!!

They are so, so cheerful. One of nature’s happy flowers!

  4. They look so perky in a late fall pot. Mine are alternating between drooping when the temperatures drop too low, and popping up again when it warms.

  5. I love pansies, especially the smaller ones with the little faces.

Love them too! Great photo Helen. I was pleased I could re-plant & save some of these from the dustbin last weekend.

  7. I love violas too and will grow them again from seed this year although I will start them sooner and plant them deeper.
