  1. Frank, I think I love you.

    1. Helen Johnstone says:

      Hi Jane
He is rather nice isnt he. I think he is a little paler than Katherine Hodgkins

  2. kate says:

    What beautiful markings… sigh….

    1. Aga says:

      I totally agree!!!

  3. Yvonne Ryan says:

    What exquisite markings!

  4. I agree Yvonne. The markings are amazing. Another addition to the wanted list 🙂

  5. Anna says:

Frank looks like a most refined gentleman companion for Katharyn H and Lady Beatrix. I think that growing him in a container shows him off better than if he were planted directly in the garden.

  6. Ricki Grady says:

    Such subtle beauty.

  7. Chloris says:

Beautiful. I have Katharine Hodgkin and Sheila Ann Germaney and now I am going to have Frank too. Do you know his parentage?

    1. Helen Johnstone says:

      Hi Chloris
I think it’s similar to Katherine hodgkins. I bought it from Peter Nyssens

  8. Iris ‘Frank Elder ‘ is indeed paler than ‘Katharine Hodgkin’ they, and ‘Sheila Ann Germaney’ are all Iris winogradowii x Iris histrioides .

    M. Y.

    1. Helen Johnstone says:

      Thanks Margaret for the information

  9. Hard not to love ANY Iris, isn’t it? Even the very fancy highly bred bearded hybrids seem like glamorous showgirls!

  10. Cathy says:

I like these paler ones, Helen

  11. Must admit our garden evolves rather than is designed.
